Twenty Five Words ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and store information when you use the Twenty Five Words writing app ("App"). By using our App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We CollectWriting Content

Your writing responses, titles, tags, and journal entries are stored locally on your device. If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your entries are synced to your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit service.

Usage and Streak Data

We store your writing streak, word count, completed dates, and app preferences locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults and local files). This data is never sent to our servers.

Device and Notification Data

If you grant permission, the App may send local notifications to remind you to write. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve external servers.

Widget DataThe App shares limited streak and writing status data (streak count, completion status) with the iOS home screen widget via a local App Group. This data does not leave your device.

3. How We Use Your InformationWe use the information stored on your device solely to:

  • Deliver the core writing experience, including daily challenges, streaks, and the Stories archive
  • Display your writing progress and statistics
  • Power home screen and lock screen widgets
  • Send local reminders to help you maintain your writing habit

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioural tracking, or profiling.

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud, your journal entries are synced to your private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud container and is not accessible to us. Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services are governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy, which we encourage you to review at apple.com/privacy.We do not have access to, and cannot read, any data stored in your private iCloud container.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or writing content with any third parties.We may disclose information only:

  • For Legal Reasons: When required by law or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users
  • With Your Consent: In any other manner explicitly disclosed to you at the time of data collection

6. Data Security

Your writing data is stored locally on your device and protected by iOS's built-in security model, including device encryption. Any iCloud-synced data is protected by Apple's encryption standards both in transit and at rest.The App does not use any proprietary or non-standard encryption algorithms. All encryption is provided by Apple's operating system and is considered exempt under Apple's guidelines.

7. On-Device AI Feedback (Where Available)

Where supported on your device (iOS 26+), the App may offer optional writing feedback using Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. This processing happens entirely on your device. Your writing is never sent to external servers or cloud AI services for this feature.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the data stored about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain data processing

Since all data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account, you can delete your data at any time by deleting the App or managing your iCloud storage directly in iOS Settings.To contact us about your rights, please email: support@kindfolk.digital.
